1.Scholarship students can register for either Chinese-taught program or English-taught program if applicable.(Most programs in Northwest University are instructed in Chinese.Specific information of the degree programs is available at www.campuschina.org or www.laihua.csc.edu.cn)
2.The scholarship duration specified in the Admission Letter, covering major study and Chinese language study, cannot be extended in general.
3.The scholarship students who are required to take Chinese Language studies, are expected to pass HSK 5 test by the end of Chinese Language study period. The students who failed to pass the HSK test after one year language training can continue their master/doctoral program for one testing year. For those who still could not fulfill the language proficiency requirement by the end of the testing year, will be sent back to their home country as a non-degree language student.
IV. Scholarship Coverage

Master students: ￥3,000 yuan/month;
Doctoral students: ￥3,500 yuan/month

V. Eligibilit
1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
2. Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
VI. Application Documents
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship(in Chinese or English, with signature);
2. Copy of Passport Photopage;
3. Notarized highest diploma (Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date);
4. Academic transcripts;
5. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English with a minimum of 800 words;
6. Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors;
7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form(photocopy)(written in English, can be downloaded from http://www.studyandworkinchina.com Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.);
8. The copy of valid Language Certificate:
ü For Chinese Taught Programs, applicants should have HSK 5 Certificate when apply.
ü For English Taught Programs, applicants should have English Proficiency Certificate : TOEFL 60 or above; IELTS 5.5 or above (Except applicants from native English countries)
Notes:Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.Applicants should submit TWO sets of bound documents to NWU.No application documents will be returned.
